Male Reproductive System - Meaning
- Bladder - The Bladder is an expandable muscular sac which stores urine prior to being discharged from the body through the Urethra.
- Sperm Duct (Vas Deferens) - A duct which transports sperm from the epididymis to the penis.
- Penis - The male genital organ.
- Erectile Tissue - Erectile tissue is any tissue that has the ability to become fully stiff. The often happens when it is filled with blood.
- Urethra - The urethra is a tube which links the urinary bladder to the outside of the body.
- Foreskin - Foreskin is a retractable roll of skin which covers the end of the penis.
- Seminal Vesicle - The Seminal Vesicle are a pair of glands which are below the urinary bladder of some male mammals.
- Prostate Gland - A gland which is surrounding the neck of the bladder in male mammals. This gland releases a fluid called semen.
- Epididymis - The Epididymis is a long, coiled tube which stores sperm. It also transports this sperm to the testes.
- Testis - The testis are also known as the testicles. The Testes are a pair of ovoid glandular organs which are a large part of the male reproductive system's function.
- Scrotum - A bag of skin which contains and protects the testes.
